GEO-SPATIAL INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR LOCAL SELF GOVERNMENT-RURAL-NEDUMANGAD
BLOCK
The need for a Geo Spatial Information System for local
bodies is very high for better planning and administration. Efficient management
of land and water resource as well as human resource is inevitable for an integrated
decentralized planning process taking the local needs into consideration. Every
Panchayath has its own set of features and problems which need appropriate and suitable
selection of location specific to housing, marketing, agro based industries, public
utility, recreation, agriculture, etc. Spatially based information system at cadastral
level supports investigation, monitoring, proper planning, and decision making to
provide better public utility services.
OBJECTIVES
1. To generate primary (Spatial) and secondary data sets
on land resources from multi temporal satellite images and field survey.
2. Integration of spatial and non spatial data in GIS for a relational data base.
3. Creation of Geo spatial information system for the sustainable management of
natural resources in local bodies.
4. To provide resources based information to each local body.
